22 Shoot - Mogadishu Mile Posted by jcombs on August 30 2011 06:51:22
|
Roslyn Club is planning a different kind of 22 shoot for Sept. 17 at the Roslyn Range.
We will squad at 0900 hrs at the clubhouse
We call it the Mogadishu Mile, it is based loosely, (very loosely) on the Battle of Mogadishu in 1993, the course of fire will cover roughly 150 yards of movement with up to 8 firing points with defined targets for each position.
This match is for 22 rimfire carbines, the course of fire will require at least 60 rounds in stacked magazines, you won't be able to load mags, if you run out of ammo you run out of luck. For the 10-22 shooters with 10 round mags, maybe a fellow 10-22 shooter will be happy to lend you a mag or three to finish. Work it out.
There will be 3 classes,
Stock, for the off the shelf guns, with 10 round mags. Civilian and Enlisted, these will encompass any gun any sight. The one major difference is the enlisted guys will run it with a 15 pound pack on their backs.
There will be pit duty that every shooter will be required to do, but dont worry there's no heavy lifting involved.
This match is a challenge but it is also a ton of fun.
Re-entry will be in place, since this is a quick shoot, you will be able to re-up for a second or third run at the targets.
If you have any questions please contact Kevin via email kevmac308@yahoo.com |
